Hill have been proud sponsors of Wendens Ambo Mini RUFC for the past four years, and has provided regular support over the years to ensure that the club is able to continue working and training with its 170 registered players.

We are delighted to announce that as part of our recent welfare initiative, the club were gifted with a new defibrillator unit. The unit has been placed at Joyce Frankland Academy in Saffron Walden, where the club’s under 6s to under 12s play.

The defibrillator has been fitted next to the school’s playing field and the club’s pavilion, ensuring that the rugby club, the school and other local sports teams that use the facilities will all benefit from the combined donation.

The defibrillator comes with special paediatric chest pads which are fully functional for children and sits in a metal box donated to the school by the rugby club, and is registered with the East of England Ambulance service who are able to provide a code to unlock the box over the phone via 999.

Wendens Ambo Mini RUFC have also purchased a training defibrillator which can be used in training coaches, parents, staff, sixth form students and any other parties.

We are delighted to be able to provide Wendens Ambo Mini RUFC and the Joyce Frankland Academy with a donation that could ultimately save someone’s life. The club’s values align perfectly with our own ambitions as a firm to inspire the next generation and so are pleased, that with this defibrillator, we are able to aid in the children’s safety whilst on the field. We admire the hard work of all the volunteer Coaches and Committee at Wendens Ambo Mini RUFC for inspiring and developing the rugby club’s mini players, whom we hope will become rugby stars of the future!

Paul Dyster, Group Head of Health, Safety and Environment at Hill

The safety and welfare of our players is of the utmost importance to us, and, as one of our main sponsors, it is extremely positive to see that Hill understands and also shares this belief. We want to thank them for this donation and for their continued support. Defibrillators save lives and should be a resource available to every sports team in the country. To be able to donate this to the School for their support in accommodating our club is a wonderful achievement. I thank the continued and inspiring efforts of all those who are involved with this blossoming club

Andy Hutchison of Wendens Ambo Mini RUFC

We are extremely grateful to Hill and Wendens Ambo Mini RUFC for providing the Defibrillator and want to thank them for their benevolent generosity, whilst I very much hope that we never have to use it, it is reassuring to know that we have the equipment in place if the worst does happen.
